Furthermore, a strong 68% of users noted that the enhanced video quality made a noticeable difference.

A critical aspect of this technology is its adaptive nature. While most video calls maintain optimal quality without needing enhancements, Teams will switch to Super Resolution automatically if bandwidth constraints arise. This adaptability makes it a useful tool for maintaining the integrity of communications, especially for businesses frequently engaging in online meetings. The level of improvement varies based on how degraded the original video is; noticeably, the feature excels in situations where the video quality is significantly below the required standards.

In an effort to balance performance and energy consumption, Super Resolution is automatically enabled for devices plugged into a power source. However, when running on battery power, users can expect the feature to switch off, thus preserving battery life while on the go. For business owners who are frequently away from a desk or in transit, this conservation of energy is paramount.

Currently, Super Resolution is available exclusively on the Teams Windows app for devices equipped with Copilot+ technology from various OEMs such as Dell, HP, and Lenovo.
