This new feature allows millions of merchants to sell directly to users of AI platforms like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Google’s Gemini app. Instead of waiting for the agentic era of commerce to materialize, Shopify has strategically positioned itself to lead the charge.

The rollout of Agentic Storefronts aims to enhance seamless shopping experiences for consumers. Hundreds of millions of ChatGPT users can now browse and purchase from Shopify merchants within their chat interface. This innovative integration enables users to explore products through Shopify’s extensive catalog and complete their purchases without leaving the ChatGPT environment. Merchant-specific customizations, from brand experiences to payment methods, carry over effortlessly into this new format.

“Shopping in ChatGPT begins with discovery—helping people explore options, compare products, and find what truly fits their needs," said Neel Ajjarapu, Commerce Product Lead at OpenAI. “By integrating products from Shopify’s entire merchant ecosystem, we’re making millions of merchants and billions of products instantly more discoverable.”
