Zoho Launches Ulaa Enterprise Browser to Boost Security and Control for Small Businesses

Share

Zoho Corporation has unveiled Ulaa Enterprise, a new version of its privacy-centric browser that caters specifically to the growing security needs of modern workplaces. Designed to serve as a secure front-end for business applications, Ulaa Enterprise offers small and medium-sized businesses a compelling solution that simplifies browser security while providing enterprise-grade control and visibility.

For small business owners increasingly relying on cloud-based tools, browsers have effectively become the new office. They are the gateway to customer data, business apps, and internal communication. Yet, few vendors have addressed this growing reliance with a browser purpose-built for enterprise environments. Zoho’s latest release tackles that gap.

“The shift to cloud-based software has made the browser the largest attack surface inside an organization, yet no software vendor has been able to produce a secure browser that strikes the correct balance between depth of policy controls and straightforward usability,” said Raju Vegesna, Chief Evangelist at Zoho.

What sets Ulaa Enterprise apart is its focus on consolidating security features directly within the browser, eliminating the need for cumbersome third-party add-ons, complex virtual desktops, or layered IT infrastructure. For small business IT managers—often juggling multiple roles—this could mean a significant reduction in workload and risk exposure.

Key features include centralized policy management, allowing administrators to set granular access controls, restrict downloads, and manage browser extensions across teams. Built-in data loss prevention (DLP) adds another layer of protection by preventing unauthorized sharing or capture of sensitive information—key for businesses handling client records or proprietary data.

Real-time visibility is also emphasized. With detailed audit logs and browser-level monitoring, IT teams can act on insights proactively rather than reacting to breaches after the fact.

Zoho’s integration of its AI engine, Zia, further enhances functionality. Zia’s ZeroPhish feature scans for phishing attempts before users can interact with harmful content, while Smart Web Categorization automatically filters unsafe sites. Even productivity sees a boost, with AI-driven tab organization helping users navigate workflows more efficiently.

Thomas Wieberneit, Founder and Principal Analyst at AheadCRM, praised the release: “With the release of Ulaa Enterprise as the front-end to business applications, Zoho now has a security stack that nearly no other tech vendor can compete with. Zoho’s relentless commitment to security and privacy is part of its DNA and is unique in the industry.”

For small businesses wary of surveillance tools, Zoho takes care to emphasize that its monitoring tools are ethical and targeted—not designed for employee micromanagement but rather for focused threat prevention. The browser builds on Chromium, providing a familiar interface while embedding local checks to maintain speed and user comfort.

Deployment is designed to be light-touch, without the need for heavy virtualization or intensive configuration. For lean teams or those without dedicated IT staff, this plug-and-play approach can make security adoption more feasible.

Ulaa Enterprise is priced to be accessible, starting at $1 per device per month or $10 annually—a manageable cost for small teams looking to bolster their cybersecurity posture without major investment.

As remote and hybrid work models continue to reshape the digital workplace, tools like Ulaa Enterprise offer a practical pathway for small businesses to secure their browser environments without sacrificing usability or budget. For many, this might be the missing piece in a broader digital security strategy.
