Amazon India Partners with Army Women’s Welfare Association to Boost Entrepreneurship for Military Families

On March 6, 2026, Amazon India unveiled an important initiative aimed at boosting entrepreneurship among women from military families. This announcement coincided with International Women’s Day and comes in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Army Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA). This partnership is designed to empower these women, including spouses of Army personnel and widows, to establish and expand their businesses on Amazon.in by 2029.

Amazon’s MoU will enable hundreds of AWWA-affiliated entrepreneurs to utilize a wealth of resources aimed at navigating the e-commerce landscape. The support includes structured onboarding and training focused on e-commerce fundamentals and marketplace best practices. Importantly, participants in this program will gain access to Amazon’s extensive logistics network and have the opportunity to showcase their products through Amazon Saheli, a dedicated storefront for women entrepreneurs.

Each participant in the Amazon Saheli program will undergo substantial training, covering crucial areas such as inventory management and customer service excellence. They will also benefit from guidance on product photography and cataloging, as well as access to analytics tools that facilitate data-driven decision-making. Such comprehensive support is expected to allow these women to concentrate on innovating their product offerings and refining their brand identities.
