Cisco Streamlines Security Solutions for MSPs, Boosting Hybrid Mesh Firewall Growth

Share

Cisco has rolled out significant advancements aimed specifically at empowering Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to navigate the complexities of modern cybersecurity. Announced at the Cisco Partner Summit in San Diego, the latest features in Cisco Security Cloud Control promise to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance the speed at which MSPs can deliver advanced security services.

At the core of this innovation is the introduction of foundational multi-customer management capabilities, designed to help MSPs deliver efficient and profitable security solutions. This upgraded platform leverages advanced AIOps and AgenticOps technologies for centralized oversight of a suite of security solutions, including Cisco’s Hybrid Mesh Firewall and Secure Access. By consolidating these resources under a single management console, MSPs can overcome the operational fragmentation that has plagued the industry.

"This initiative is critical as MSPs face increasingly sophisticated threats," said Jeetu Patel, Cisco’s President and Chief Product Officer. "The enhancements in Security Cloud Control and our Hybrid Mesh Firewall are geared towards eliminating operational friction, boosting revenue growth, and providing superior security outcomes for clients."

The Hybrid Mesh Firewall positions itself as a comprehensive security solution, optimized to counter threats, including those targeting AI models. It facilitates zero-trust segmentation across diverse environments—data centers, cloud platforms, and edge sites—effectively enabling MSPs to manage security policies centrally from within the Security Cloud Control platform.

Notably, the updated features allow MSPs to offer an array of advanced security solutions with great efficiency. Cisco’s Secure Firewall 200 Series and 6100 Series exemplify this capability, demonstrating performance that reportedly detects and stops up to 100% of threats in various tests, according to NetSecOPEN, a nonprofit focused on network security standards.

MSPs aiming to enhance service delivery can benefit from the streamlined features of Security Cloud Control. Key offerings include:

  • Centralized Management: An intuitive dashboard simplifies navigation across multiple clients, reducing the time and effort traditionally required for oversight.
  • Multi-Org Management: Efficient onboarding and configuration processes mean that MSPs can bring on new customers and services more rapidly than before.
  • Granular Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): This feature ensures that administrative permissions are closely managed, reinforcing compliance and governance.
  • Simplified Licensing: The new structure aids in better tracking, auditing, and financial forecasting, helping to improve profitability.

The advantages extend far beyond operations. MSPs can expect faster time-to-market, lowered operational costs through automation, and increased opportunities for upselling services. “Being able to log into a single dashboard will really reduce the workload for our teams,” said Gísli Helgason, Chief Technologist at CAE Technology Services Ltd. This sentiment underscores the resonance of Cisco’s innovations among service providers eager to simplify their operational framework.

However, as with any major platform overhaul, potential challenges may arise. Although multifaceted solutions promise efficiency, they also necessitate that teams adapt to using a single management interface. MSPs may face hurdles in training staff to fully leverage the capabilities of the new platform and integrate it into existing workflows. Moreover, the move to centralized operations could initially overwhelm some teams accustomed to managing multiple tools.

Despite these concerns, many industry leaders view Cisco’s enhancements as a game changer. “It brings us a single pane of glass to manage multi-customer environments,” stated Justin Rice, Chief Product & Technology Officer at CBTS. As Cisco’s Security Cloud Control is set to be generally available in February 2026, MSPs are encouraged to connect with their Cisco representatives to explore how these capabilities can be integrated into their service models.

As cybersecurity threats continue to evolve, the importance of effective management solutions for MSPs has never been clearer. Cisco’s commitment to enhancing their Security Cloud Control offers a path for MSPs to not only protect their clients but also to efficiently grow their businesses in an increasingly challenging landscape.
