Zoho Enhances Low-Code Platform with AI-Powered Tools to Accelerate App Development for Small Businesses

Share

Zoho Corporation has announced the addition of advanced AI capabilities to its low-code application development platform, Zoho Creator, offering small business owners faster and more accessible app-building tools. With this update, Zoho is reinforcing its commitment to creating practical, real-time AI-driven solutions that streamline business processes and empower users with a range of AI-powered features.

At the heart of this update is Zoho Creator’s new AI assistant, CoCreator, which simplifies the app creation process by enabling users to build applications using voice and written prompts. This assistant helps businesses reduce their time-to-market by guiding the app development process with intuitive features such as process flows and business specification documents. What’s more, CoCreator is powered by Zia, Zoho’s AI assistant, which has been integrated across the company’s product suite since 2015, providing deeper contextual understanding of business data and workflows.

Raju Vegesna, Zoho’s Chief Evangelist, emphasized the role AI now plays in speeding up the app development process without compromising on quality. “Since Creator’s introduction in 2006, the focus has been on simplifying and speeding up the app development process without sacrificing functionality.” “AI allows us to take it to another level, shortening the time from an idea to an app,” he said. This means that even businesses with limited technical expertise can now leverage AI to create robust, customized applications, speeding up processes and reducing reliance on IT support.

The new features are available to all Zoho Creator users today and offer a variety of tools designed to help small businesses streamline their operations. One of the standout features is the idea-to-app generation tool. Using ZohoAI or OpenAI, users can input text or voice prompts, or even provide process flow diagrams and software requirement specifications (SRS). This prompts Zoho Creator to suggest relevant fields, modules, and automations tailored to the user’s specific business needs.

Additionally, the platform now includes AI-driven component generation, where Zoho’s AI recommends contextual fields within existing forms to enhance applications. This feature can save businesses valuable time in the form-building process. Furthermore, with Zia’s prompter, businesses can now generate and optimize code blocks automatically, ensuring applications are both functional and high-performing.

Data management is also enhanced with the addition of AI-powered data cleansing and modeling. Small businesses often struggle with unstructured data, but Zoho Creator’s new data prep capabilities allow users to transform raw data from multiple sources into clean, usable information that can be integrated into apps quickly. This is a critical tool for businesses looking to improve their data organization without needing to hire specialized data professionals.

One of the most intriguing new capabilities is the AI Skills feature, which enables businesses to automate everyday processes using natural language instructions. This feature, currently in early access and slated for general availability in June 2025, is poised to revolutionize how small businesses handle routine tasks like customer support, invoicing, and data entry.

Small business owners will also be able to deploy custom AI models tailored to their specific needs. Whether it’s for optical character recognition (OCR), predictions, or object detection, Zoho Creator provides support for building AI models that work seamlessly with a business’s unique data.

Zoho differentiates itself from competitors by focusing on customer privacy and ensuring that its AI tools are designed with customer data security in mind. The company’s AI models are not trained on consumer data and do not retain customer information, giving business owners confidence that their data remains secure while benefiting from advanced AI technology.

For small businesses, the new AI-powered features in Zoho Creator present an exciting opportunity to reduce operational inefficiencies and enhance their ability to create customized applications quickly and cost-effectively. By streamlining workflows and automating tasks, small businesses can focus more on growth and innovation while letting AI handle repetitive, time-consuming tasks.
