Amazon Web Services (AWS) has officially launched its Mexico (Central) Region, marking a significant milestone in the country’s digital transformation and creating opportunities for small businesses, startups, and enterprises alike. With over $5 billion planned investment in the next 15 years, the new region is set to serve as a foundation for innovative technology solutions across various sectors in Mexico.
The AWS Mexico (Central) Region provides businesses with localized infrastructure, allowing them to run applications and store data securely within the country. AWS’s robust infrastructure allows companies to launch their products faster, scale operations seamlessly, and enhance their competitiveness in both local and global markets. Notable local entities like BBVA, Hospital Angeles, and Grupo Lala are already leveraging AWS infrastructure to innovate and expand their services. For instance, BBVA is utilizing the new regional infrastructure to bolster its technological capabilities and improve the security of its financial services.
Additionally, AWS’s $300,000 InCommunities Fund aims to support local community projects, reflecting a commitment to social impact. This kind of investment not only fosters local talent but also fuels economic growth, with an estimated addition of over $10 billion to Mexico’s GDP and the creation of more than 7,000 full-time equivalent jobs annually.
