Intuit Launches AI-Driven Solutions to Boost Growth for Mid-Market Businesses

Share

Intuit’s recent enhancements to its Enterprise Suite aim to revolutionize financial management for mid-market businesses, a group often hindered by complex data systems and slow decision-making processes. As small business owners navigate growth, Intuit seeks to provide them with an all-in-one solution that integrates financial and operational data to streamline workflows and facilitate faster, more profitable decisions.

Intuit Enterprise Suite, an AI-powered ERP platform, is touted as a command center for finance teams, offering a range of functionalities including advanced multi-entity close automation, enhanced reporting capabilities, and a new Human Capital Management (HCM) module. This consolidation aims to unify fragmented data and eliminate reliance on traditional ERPs, which can be cumbersome and costly to implement.

Ashley Still, General Manager and EVP of Small Business and Mid-Market at Intuit, emphasizes the importance of this transformation. "For too long, mid-market finance teams have been forced to make critical decisions with fragmented data spread across disconnected systems," she noted. The new features in Intuit Enterprise Suite aim to bring operational, financial, and workforce data together, fostering real-time visibility and strategic decision-making.

The platform is designed for businesses managing over 200 entities and millions of dollars in revenue. It boasts features like multi-dimensional financial management, payroll, and project profitability reporting—all in a cloud-based environment. Remarkably, 90% of users complete their migration in under 30 days, making the transition both quick and efficient. A new conversational "chat" interface can also help automate repetitive tasks, freeing up valuable time for finance teams.

Mickey North Rizza, Group Vice President at IDC, highlighted the opportunity for small to mid-sized businesses: "This positions them to benefit from the latest wave of AI-powered ERP solutions, especially those that automate workflows, improve financial visibility, enable faster decision-making, and are designed to scale without overwhelming internal teams."

Advanced multi-entity close capabilities address one of the most time-consuming processes for finance teams. With features like automated cross-entity accounting workflows and AI-assisted categorization, businesses can streamline financial closes significantly. Emily Most, VP of Finance and Administration at Certified Industrial Partners, attested to its impact, sharing, “Not only does our team get to save about 10 hours a week, but we were able to allocate that responsibility across multiple team members because it doesn’t take as much accounting experience to complete.”

For businesses in the construction sector, the specialized features of the Enterprise Suite aim to enhance cash flow management. The platform includes tools for improved project management, work-in-progress reports, and flexible job costing—all tailored to address the specific challenges of managing construction projects. Scott Franchini, a partner at RedHammer, pointed out, “One of the biggest roadblocks for a CFO in construction is visibility… What IES brings to the table is the ability to quickly see budgets, actuals versus budget, billings, and gross profit on a specific project.”

The introduction of HCM capabilities marks a significant leap forward for midsize businesses. Intuit’s HCM solution integrates payroll, hiring, and performance management with financial operations, providing a holistic view of organizational performance. This integration not only enhances data accuracy but also saves time—critical resources for any growing business.

While the benefits of the new Intuit Enterprise Suite are clear, small business owners should remain vigilant about potential challenges. Implementing any new system requires adequate training and adjustment time for staff, and there may be initial costs associated with migrating data and processes. Additionally, business owners will need to evaluate how well the software integrates with existing workflows to ensure a smooth transition.

As Intuit rolls out these advanced capabilities to its U.S. customers, small and mid-sized business owners have an opportunity to enhance their operational efficiency, reduce complexity, and ultimately drive growth. The ability to streamline financial management and consolidate data not only facilitates quicker decision-making but also places businesses in a stronger competitive position.
