Share

Small business owners looking to expand their knowledge, network, and mentorship opportunities have a promising event on the horizon. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced the cosponsors for the 2025 National Small Business Week, scheduled from May 4-10. Among the highlights is the National Small Business Week Virtual Summit, co-hosted by SCORE, a nonprofit organization dedicated to mentoring small businesses.

The summit will take place online on May 6-7 and will feature a rich array of educational workshops, access to federal resources, and invaluable networking opportunities. With a robust lineup of over a dozen cosponsors from both the public and private sectors, attendees can expect to gain insights directly relevant to their entrepreneurial journeys.

SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler expressed gratitude for the private-sector partners contributing to this initiative. “SBA is grateful for the private-sector cosponsors who make National Small Business Week possible,” Loeffler stated. “Their support helps us spotlight America’s job creators—who power our economy and strengthen local communities every day.”

This virtual summit offers a unique opportunity for both aspiring and current entrepreneurs to learn from seasoned professionals. SCORE’s CEO Bridget Weston emphasized the value of this event for business owners at any stage. “The National Small Business Week Virtual Summit is an exciting opportunity…to gain insights from experienced mentors and industry experts,” she remarked. SCORE has been mentoring small businesses for 60 years and aims to leverage that experience during this summit.

Registration for the event is required, and attendees can find a detailed agenda, along with the complete list of sponsors, on the official website. Among the contributing sponsors are prominent names such as Verizon, Paychex, U.S. Bank, and Amazon, which suggests a wealth of expertise across various industries will be available to participants.

The initiative aligns with the SBA’s ongoing mission to leverage technology to engage small business owners nationwide. In addition to the virtual summit, there will be an in-person national award celebration on May 5 in Washington, D.C., recognizing local entrepreneurs for their contributions.

This year’s National Small Business Week reflects a commitment to supporting the backbone of the U.S. economy. However, small business owners should be aware of potential challenges surrounding virtual events, including technology accessibility and time constraints. With many local events occurring simultaneously, owners must prioritize which workshops or sessions align best with their immediate needs.

The sentiment surrounding this initiative is overwhelmingly positive, with many small business experts encouraging participation. The chance to connect with mentors and fellow entrepreneurs presents an invaluable resource for anyone looking to advance their entrepreneurial efforts.

In summary, the National Small Business Week and its Virtual Summit represent a significant opportunity for small business owners. With a combination of expert insights, federal resources, and a supportive community, participants are bound to come away with actionable strategies that can breathe new life into their businesses.
